The Pleasington Putter, a 36 hole scratch event for women golfers sponsored by Ludlow Wealth Management, was held on Sunday, June 13 at Pleasington golf club.
The competition was well supported with more than 50 competitors and once again the standard of entry was extremely high with 16 entrants with handicaps of one or better.
Those with early tee times had the better of the day with the weather worsening in the afternoon and most of the second rounds were played in heavy rain.
This year saw the competition played for the 29th time and produced the first ever winner from the home club.
Brogan Townend playing towards the end of the field and therefore suffering the worst of the conditions followed up her opening morning round of 70 (4 under par) with an afternoon round of 75 for a winning score of 145 (3 under par).
For the second year running Amy Boulden of Maesdu golf club had to be content with the runner-up spot with a score of 148.
