We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of a further IFA business which is situated within Ludlow’s target market for growth.
The acquisition of Chartwell Finance Management Ltd, which operates within the Lancashire region of Fylde, is consistent with Ludlow’s strategy of acquiring like-minded, well-located and highly regarded IFA’s in the North West.
Ludlow’s managing director Sid Ludlow said: “I am delighted that we have been able to bring together our two businesses which will substantially increase Ludlow’s presence on the Fylde Coast and across the region. The project has been a long time in the making and everyone involved is to be thanked for their fantastic efforts in bringing this agreement to a conclusion.
“Chartwell is a strong regional brand and we are excited about building upon its reputation. New and existing clients will enjoy the benefits of engaging an organisation that has a really deep understanding of financial planning and investment. They will have the support of a highly qualified consultant team which collectively has many years’ experience in delivering creative wealth management solutions.”
Chartwell Finance Management, which was established by practice director John Boyle in 1987, has a considerable portfolio of locally based clients. As a result, this acquisition will see the combined level of funds under advice increase to more than £360 million.
Continuing to trade under the Chartwell name the company will be keeping its Poulton Le Fylde branch; it will be moving its Lytham operation into Ludlow’s newly refurbished offices in the historic former Edwardian saw mill which is just half a mile from Lytham town centre.
John Boyle said: “In this ever changing world of financial services it has been important for us to seek ways in which to improve and enhance our service offer. We saw this acquisition as an opportunity to combine the strengths of Chartwell and Ludlow whilst maintaining client continuity. Clients will also be extremely pleased to see us moving out of our temporary offices in Lytham into very prestigious state-of-the-art premises.”
On a personal level John sees this acquisition as allowing him more time to devote to his clients without the additional distraction of having to run the business. He is also actively involved in the Fylde community being both a magistrate and college governor.
