In the week that sees the Rugby World Cup kick off at Twickenham on Friday with England against Fiji, Ludlow has pledged its support to Southport Rugby Club.
Ludlow is now a corporate sponsor of the rugby club which will see the firm’s brand on playing kit for all teams in the 2015 / 16 season.
The firm’s chief executive and local man, Sid Ludlow, commented on the new partnership. He said:
“We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to support grass roots rugby at such a great club; one that is doing so much for the local community. I was really impressed to learn that the club runs junior rugby training on a Sunday morning for more than 330 youngsters giving them not only great skills on the field but teaching them important lessons about life, including team work and self-discipline. Getting three hundred kids off the sofa and away from their computers is a fantastic achievement and one that I was very keen to support. As an aside junior rugby is where the international stars of the future are developed and if what I see at Southport Rugby Football club is being repeated in other parts of the country then England and the home nations can look forward to years of success”.
“Our sponsorship contribution is a small part of the fantastic fund raising work being done by the team of volunteers that are the backbone of the club and we are delighted to be involved”.
SRFC Club Chairman, Steve Olive added: “From fielding 18 teams across men’s, junior’s and ladies, to working with local schools to deliver rugby coaching is something we are very proud of. To further strengthen our community connections with companies such as Ludlow is fantastic and we look forward to welcoming Sid and his team to Southport Rugby Club”.
